developing and coordinating all activities concerning zoning within
Eufaula. The board consists of five (5) members, appointed by the
City Council. Terms of the members are three (3) years.

Construction Board of Adjustment
and Appeals |
The Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals of the
City of Eufaula, Alabama consists of 7 members, and 2
alternates. Section 105 of Standard Building Code states
that members should consist of individuals with knowledge
and experience in the technical codes, such as design
professionals, contractors or building industry. There
should be 2 alternate members, 1 at large from the building
industry and 1 at large from the public.Terms are 2 members
for 2 years, 1 member for 3 years, 2 members for 4 years, 2
members for 6 years, and 2 for 1 year.

pride within the city of Eufaula. The board consists of

Historic Preservation Commission |
The purpose of the Historic Preservation Commission of the City
of Eufaula is to promote the preservation of buildings,
structures and sites of historic and architectural value within
the city. The commission accomplishes this purpose by
recommending to the city council buildings, structures, sites
and districts for designation as historic properties or
districts; by documenting the city’s historic resources; by
conducting community education programs; and by reviewing
proposed changes to the exterior appearance of buildings within
the city’s locally designated historic districts and working
with the property owners to insure that the changes are
consistent with Eufaula’s “Design Review Manual. After initial
appointment the term will be for 3 years.

for developing and coordinating all activities concerning housing
within Eufaula. The board consists of 5 members, appointed by the
Mayor. Terms of the members are 5 years

Industrial Development Board |

The Industrial Development Board of the City of Eufaula,
Alabama consists of 9 members, appointed by the city
council. Terms are 6 years. Per Section 11-54-86 through
11-54-102 of the code of Alabama 1975, no City employee,
Council members, other officers may serve on this board.
First choice of membership should come from the Chamber of
Commerce membership. Election of officers are in October of
each year. Bonds may be issued through this Board for
industrial development (e.g. American Buildings -
equipment).
Meetings: Quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the
months of Oct, Jan, April, and July.
Election of officers: October of each year.

Parks and Recreation Board |

The Parks and Recreation Board is a seven member policy
Board appointed by the Eufaula City Council. The Board is an
incorporated Board authorized by State of Alabama statute.
The Board is organized in a manner similar to the Water and
Sewer Board and the Eufaula City School Board. The Director
and staff of the Parks and Recreation Department are
employed by the Board, however; all personnel policies are
handled as any employee of the City of Eufaula.
Meetings: the second Thursday of each month at 12:00.

Wiregrass Mental Health Board |

The Wiregrass Mental Health Board of the City of
Eufaula, Alabama consists of two (2) members based on
population. Terms are six (6) years. Its purpose is to
promote the health and general welfare of the people in the
service area by providing a comprehensive program of
community based mental health services and facilities for
the lower, middle and upper socio-economic levels; to
operate without discrimination on account of race, sex,
creed, or color; to operate as a non-proprietary and
non-profit business, although a system of fees may be
established for those who are able to pay some or all of the
cost of services; to operate at all times in compliance with
Act 310 of the Legislature of Alabama under which this Board
is incorporated and applicable federal regulations, and to
provide mental health services.

The Tree Commission of the City of Eufaula, Alabama
consists of 7 members and 2 ex-officio members. 2 members
shall be appointed annually to serve for 3 years. Members
shall serve until their successors are appointed. Mayor and

and Sanitation and the Committee on Parks and Recreation
shall serve as ex-officio members.
