Eufaula Police Department
The Eufaula Police Department is dedicated to the goal of protecting the citizens of Eufaula and providing the highest level of public service. We provide safety and security to the citizens by establishing partnerships with the community. The officers of the Police Department are dedicated men and women who work demanding, but rewarding hours. All officers are involved in the Community Policing Program aimed at involving citizens and improving communication with the public we serve.
The Eufaula Police Department is under the leadership of Chief James C. West. The department has 40 POST-certified patrol officers assigned to various positions throughout the department, two full time animal control officers, six school crossing guards, 15 communications officers, and two administrative personnel. Four correction officers directed by a jail administrator, manage the operation of a 21-bed on-site detention facility for inmates sentenced from Eufaula Municipal Court for misdemeanor offenses. The Eufaula Police Department has a Special Operations Division, which consists of a drug unit and a tactical operations team. In addition, one resource officer is assigned to the schools. .

The values of the Eufaula Police Department shall serve as a foundation for all facets of the Eufaula Police Department, and the following values are the basis of all functions of the Eufaula Police Department:
The Eufaula Police Department believes in the value of human life and dignity. All persons shall be treated with courtesy and respect. Abuse of police authority is not compatible with the trust vested in us by the community.
The Eufaula Police Department believes integrity is the basis for community trust. Our employees will conduct themselves in the most professional manner possible so as to serve as role models for the community. A higher standard of conduct is expected of those who carry out the goals of the criminal justice system.
The Eufaula Police Department believes in the principles of the United States Constitution. We respect the rights and freedoms afforded persons by the Bill of Rights.
The Eufaula Police Department believes in professional and personal excellence. We are committed to high standards of performance. We encourage the pursuit of higher education by our employees to enhance themselves, the department and the police profession.
The Eufaula Police Department believes in the quality of our workforce. We strive to employ capable, hardworking people who are doing important and satisfying work for the citizens of Eufaula. We carefully screen our personnel to insure compliance with the highest standards possible, provide the best training available and guide them with exemplary supervision.
