Public Works

ATTENTION:  Effective Sunday, May 1, 2022, Ordinance 2022-4 (Amended Solid Waste Ordinance)

It is the mission of the Public Works Department to provide the services needed and desired by the Eufaula citizens in an efficient, effective and timely manner while striving to preserve, improve and construct infrastructure within the city.

The Public Works Department is responsible for the pickup and disposal of household and commercial garbage and trash, as well as the repair and maintenance of city streets, street signage, street lights, and drainage structures. In addition, Public Works has an on-site city shop that is responsible for the maintenance and repairs on all City vehicles.

Fees

The Public Works Department provides household garbage and trash pickup on a one day per week basis per household. Fees for garbage-trash collection are billed through the Water and Sewer Board. The household garbage fee is $19.00 per month; an additional $2.75 for limb/leaf pickup is mandatory where limb/leaf service is offered.  A second garbage can container may be issued by the City of Eufaula Public Works Department for a one time $75.00 fee, and an additional $10 monthly service fee for that second container.

Problems, questions, and/or concerns with collections of household garbage and/or limb/leaf service should be directed to the Public Works Department at 334-687-1236.
