Historic Preservation Commission

PURPOSE

To provide for designation of historical properties or historic districts; to provide for issuance of certificates of appropriateness; to provide for an appeals procedure; to repeal conflicting ordinances; and for other purposes.  After initial appointment the term will be for three (3) years.

TERM OF OFFICE 

Members shall serve three-year terms.  Members may be reappointed.  In order to achieve staggered terms, initial appointments shall be:  Two (2) members for one (1) year; two (2) members for two (2) years; and three (3) members for three (3) years.  Members shall not receive compensation, although they may be reimbursed for expenses incurred on behalf of the Commission.  The Mayor recommends members, City Council appoints members.

2nd Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., police department court room, as needed.
